A 47 year old white male has noted onset of redness, pain and blurry vision in his right eye for two days.  The patient is a contact lens wearer who reports that he wears his contacts all day and night. He has removed his contact lenses since the onset of symptoms.  His other past medical history includes diabetes mellitus type II for the past 5 years. The patient also casually mentions that he has recently spent many hours in his new hot tub while wearing his contact lenses.

Visual acuity in the right eye is 20/200. At the patient's last annual exam, Visual acuity in the right eye was 20/20 corrected.

Visual acuity in the left eye is 20/20 corrected

Intraocular pressure in both eyes is 12 mmHg (within normal range).
